Detailed Itinerary

DAY 01: ARRIVE PARO

While the flight is about to touch down, you will feel a different kind of excitement like never before. Paro is the gateway to the world outside and is sure to welcome you warmly. Our team will be there to assist you along the journey starting with settling down.

Once you are well rested with a power- pack lunch, there will be sightseeing of the town and then you will be driven to some of the amazing sites like Rimpong Dzong, Dzongs are fortress and in Bhutan, you get to see the blending of administrative and monastic bodies in these fortress.

 DAY 02: PARO

After breakfast, you will be driven to the Drugyal Dzong which once remained as ruins due to an accidental fire now stands strong like a brave warrior. The fortress was built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in the year 1647.  Next is a short hike to the Taktsang Monastry, known as the Tiger Nest. From the minute, you start your walk from the base camp, you can see the breath taking landscape and how the landscape has adorned itself with the mountains.

Followed by a visit to the Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temple in Bhutan which dates back to the 7th century. The temple holds the history of art, culture and change (with time).

DAY 03: TA DZONG TO JELE DZONG

A beautiful drive to the Ta-Dzong. As the team gets ready with the arrangements for the trek, you can visit the National Museum. From that point, you need ascend into the pine forest and lots of apple orchards. As you walk further, you come across the Kuenga Lhakang and from there, it’s a steady climb from where you get the view of Jele Dzong. Continuing the steady narrow path opens up getting wider before reaching the point.

 DAY 04: JELE DZONG TO JANHCHULAKHA

Leaving the beautiful view of the Dzong, you get yourself climbing in the deep into the forest. You will find yourself surrounded with various trees and even you will find yak herders in the area as you ascend up. You will get a good view of Mt. Jhomolhari from here if the day favors.

Overnight at the campsite.

DAY 05: JANGCHULAKHA TO JIMILANG TSHO

The trail takes you through the juniper trees and rhododendrons as you ascent and descent down from one mountain to the other. It gives you the best scene during the day as well as the night with the stars over you. Your campsite is near the Jimilang tsho (lake) as you descend down from the pass.

 DAY 06: JIMILANG TSHO TO SIMKOTA TSHO

This route will take you through the beautiful rhododendon trees which are in blossom in summer days and then you will pass the Janetsho. Yaks and yak herders settlement is common along the route. After crossing a spur, you can view the Simkota Tsho.

Overnight at the pastureland.

DAY 07: SIMKOTA TSHO TO PHAJODING

There are many ascends and descends to this trail with many small lakes along before you reach to the campsite. You might get to see and enjoy the view of Mt. Gangkar Puensum depending on the weather. And once you have reached to your campsite, you also get to enjoy the spectacular view of the Phajoding Monastery and the Thimphu Valley from a little down the route.

 DAY 08: PHAJODING TO THIMPHU

From Phajoding to Thimphu is an easy trek down through thick forest. As you move down, soon you will see the roads and there is a Takin Santuary along the route.Just at the entry point of the Santuary, the driver will be there to pick you up and take you to the hotel.

DAY 09: THIMPHU

With well-rested day, an excursion in the country’s capital city, Thimphu awaits for you. Visiting National Memorial Chorten, Changangkha and Kuenselphodrang (to see the one of the biggest Standing Buddha) is a must. Also, you can explore streets of Thimphu for it is known for having good restaurants for a hearty meal with music and happy people around.

Overnight in Thimphu.

DAY 10 : DEPARTURE

A smooth ride from Thimphu to Paro Airport.
